K I'm going to format this post a bit differently. Usually I post the original recipe & then do my tweaks. But since I make this so often & am constantly looking for the recipe, I'm doing my own changes as the basic recipe. The title will still be linked to the original recipe per usual, however.
Ingredients
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2/3 eggs (3 is better, 2 works)
- 1/2 cup applesauce or oil
- 1.5 cups milk
Optional:
- 4 cups instant oats
- 1 cup raisins
- 2 apples
- 1-2 bananas
- 1.5 cup blueberries
ETA: This was my first time making this with applesauce instead of oil, and I found it way
too sweet. I'll be cutting the sugar down to 1/2, maybe even 1/4 a cup. My hubby thinks this is the perfect amount...so just be prepared to make adjustments.
Directions
- Pre-heat oven to 350.
- Mix ingredients together in large bowl. Stir/whisk until thoroughly mixed.
- Pour in to greased baking dish.
- Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes.
My Tips
- I love this recipe because it's healthy & easy to make ahead. I typically make it on Sundays and then just refrigerate it so I have a yummy breakfast ready to go during the week. I warm it up & add a bit of milk and it's delicious.
- The great thing about this recipe is it's soooo easy to tweak. If you click on the title, you'll see that I've modified Becca's version quite a bit. That's what makes it awesome- it's a great basic meal that you can easily turn into something amazing based on your own preferences. I play around with adding different fruits and berries, it's fun & delicious!
